Why Indians are not cool?

Why are we made fun of by the world? Why Indian 1 makes fun of Indian 2 from another part of the country or even from the next state. Why are we ashamed of the things that we do normally?

Why do a lot of aspire to adapt to western culture? Why do we want to be accepted as a part of a system that has no relation to ours? And maybe wouldn't make sense as a larger picture.

You can't be accepted and respected for something if you are not accepting and proud of what you are and what you belong to. And that pride had better not be blind. That's foolhardy.

Here's a scene that I witnessed a couple of years ago at an airplane shuttle. The shuttle reached the airport building where passengers were supposed to disembark and make their way to the luggage belt. Well, cut to the shuttle. We reached and the the doors slid open and everyone got up and made their way towards the door. Quite natural. Who wants to sit inside the shuttle all day long. A girl was waiting for people to get down before she rose from her seat and made her way out. She took a look at everyone and suddenly turned towards a Caucasian couple sitting next to her and made a nasty remark about Indians always being in a rush and crowding up. I was disgusted.

I couldn't help feeling that she was over-whelmed by the 'white' couple and was waiting to put down her fellow-country men and step up into the so called cultured crowd. And waiting for a chance to speak to them.

Well, if you let one billion people get in ahead of you, you're never going to get anything done!

  1. it is very natural and human to find differences
cause differences make you unique... i tell you in my italian class people keep saying wht these italians change place name people name and all... wht illogical people ... i tried telling them that every language does that... but they themselves cant make this small detail... that is the problem with most of us... we are so indulge in finding differences that we end up not appreciating the coherent oneness amongst us... appriciating white skin is something that we cant help... cause there are laws of optics that are at work... in industrial design we always keep scope to make things look more childlike and fair to appeal to most cultures... 2. What if we were in a world where appreciation of white was not taught in the form of subjugation and colonialism? Would we still be the same? I think not.
Jews were white, with blue eyes and blond hair. They were still discriminated against. Human beings need to put down someone else to feel superior. In that we are ONE.
